Please remember that each year’s list is not a catalog of recommended or favorite holiday films. Some are favorites of mine, but others are selected for their novelty, their intrigue, or (honestly) their being so bad that I couldn’t resist writing about them. My goal each year is to cover a wide array of eras of film-making, film genres, film messages, etc., and in doing so, I’ve definitely mixed some mediocre and some miserable titles in with more than a few marvelous ones.
